At St Breock Primary School our curriculum aims to give children the knowledge, skills and understanding to achieve to their full potential academically, socially and emotionally. This takes place in the context of a safe and nurturing school environment where each individual child is known and each individual child’s learning journey is unique to them. Learning, Love and Laughter is at the core of all that we do.
We aim to give the children the necessary skills to prepare them for life in modern British society. The ability to learn is underpinned by our ethos and values, which are taught through our Toolkit for learning, love and laughter. We use this to promote positive attitudes to learning, frame their personal development and highlight the importance of ownership of learning for future success. In doing so the children will develop a lifelong love of learning and leave us academically, physically and emotionally fit.
Our curriculum reflects both the context of the school and the experiences of the children. This enables the children to be aspirational, to fulfil their potential and reach the highest of expectations that we have of them. We want all our pupils to truly reach their potential in everything they do.
At St Breock we believe that learning is an active collaboration between home, school and the community. In addition to regular homework such as reading, spelling, handwriting and learning number facts (tables and number bonds) we encourage parents and the wider community to become involved in school life.

Our curriculum maps can be found by accessing the individual links in this section. These will show how we have designed the children's learning journey in each subject to build on their previous learning towards end of topic/term, end of year and end of phase outcomes.
